Police release name of deceased Johnsonville man

Wellington Police are now able to release the name of the deceased Johnsonville man found dead in his home on Tuesday night.

He was 35 year old Matthew John Hall.

A post mortem examination was carried out on Mr Hall's body last night, which found the preliminary cause of death was from multiple wounds to the body.

Detective Senior Sergeant Dave Thornton, officer in charge of the investigation says a scene examination will continue today and is expected to take some time.

"We are now looking for the person or persons responsible for Mr Hall's death and are making steady progress with our enquiries to date, but it is still very early stages in the investigation."

Police want to hear from anyone who was in the Broderick Road area on Tuesday 15 February 2011 in the afternoon and early evening, who heard or saw anything suspicious.
