Johnsonville man died as a result of ferocious attack

Further results of the post mortem examination carried out on the body of deceased man Matthew Hall show he died from a ferocious attack whilst in his bed.

Detective Senior Sergeant Dave Thornton, officer in charge of the investigation says the focus of the inquiry now is to find the person or people responsible for his brutal murder.

"Whilst we are keeping an open mind as to how Matthew met his death, we are still in the early stages of the investigation and it is the public who will help us solve this."

Dave Thornton says a free phone number set up today has already generated phone calls with helpful information, however, he is urging more assistance.

"I have no doubt that there are people out there who may have seen a person or people, entering or leaving 118 Broderick Road, Johnsonville, between the hours of midday Monday 14 February and Tuesday 15 February, before Police were called just after 6pm."

He says, "Whilst people may think the information is insignificant to them, I cannot stress enough how important it may be to us."
