Male arrested after domestic homicide in Tauranga

Western Bay of Plenty Police have arrested a 41 year old man following a domestic-related homicide in Bellevue, Tauranga, early this morning .

A 59 year old woman was killed in the incident, while a 27 year old woman was also injured. She is recovering in Tauranga Hospital, however, her injuries are not life-threatening.

The name of the deceased will not be released until at least midday on Monday 21 February as next of kin are still being notified.

The Bay of Plenty District Acting Crime Manager, Detective Inspector Tim Anderson says Police are unable to provide any further information at this stage, however, he says Police are not looking for anyone else in relation to the incident. The Police investigation is continuing.
