Significant delays on the Wellington motorway

15:45 - Police are advising motorists of significant hold-ups on the Wellington motorway due to a 4-car crash on the Northbound lane of the Wellington urban motorway (S.H One) 200 metres North of the Aotea on-ramp.

Police are currently preventing access to the motorway via other on-ramps to prevent further delays on the motorway.

Motorists are urged to avoid travelling in this area for the next hour.

Early indications are that the crash may have been caused by a motorist swerving to avoid debris on the motorway.

There are not believed to be any injuries to any motorists.
