SH99, Orepuki-Riverton Highway, Tihaka Southland District

At about 6.50am there was a serious crash between a truck and a car on SH 99, the Orepuki-Riverton Highway, Tihaka Southland District.

There is one person with critical injuries.

The road is closed and there are diversions in place at Ward Road on either side.

Motorists are asked to avoid the area for the next 5 hours.
