New Zealand has it's very own answer to Jack Johnson.
His name is Damon Meade and in his first production, WOLFSKINZ, he has set a standard most film makers can only dream of.
Wolfskinz is a 39 minute surf DVD and stars New Zealand's hottest surf talent from Maz Quinn, Daniel Kereopa to big wave legend Doug Young.
The intro sequence was enough to give me itchy feet, however, after watching the whole thing I had to get out on the water.
I couldn't help but want to grab my board and find the nearest wave.
Damon found just the right mix between sick airs, impossible cut backs and insane barrels.
The film has a classic Kiwi feel to it and most surfers will have gone to great lengths to get waves like these guys did.
Any Kiwis will enjoy to this production, surfer or not, as it relates so well to the Kiwi attitude of getting out of town and finding that remote spot to do your thing.
Most of the New Zealand surfing was shot in the Gisborne area which we all know has a reputation for great waves and an even bigger talent pool of surfers.
There are a few sequences from around the world, all being surfed by Kiwis, which have added to the feel the film gives of the all round Kiwi surfer.
I absolutley loved this DVD and would recommend it as a must in any collection.
I rate this film 10 form 10.
