Waitematä Police have today carried out search warrants at two West Auckland addresses.

A significant quantity of methamphetamine with a street value estimated to be in excess of 1 million dollars has been seized from the View Road address of the Head Hunters West Auckland headquarters.

Eight people have been arrested and charged with a variety of offences and will appear in the Waitakere District Court on Saturday 12th March 2011.

Inspector Gary DAVEY, the Waitakere Area Commander said, "This seizure will seriously impact upon the supply of methamphetamine in the Auckland area. This is an incredibly damaging drug and Police remain committed to disrupting its distribution."

The search warrants follow warrants executed in other parts of the country in an ongoing effort to disrupt the organised distribution of illegal drugs.
