AOS call-out in Tauranga

A 23 year old unemployed Tauranga man was arrested at an Oxford Street address at 4.00 am Sunday 27 March 2011. The man had been at a party near his home address where he engaged in a confrontation with other guests over a missing wallet.

The man left the party but returned a short time later carrying an air rifle that he presented at partygoers. He left a short time later and went home, no shots were fired at any person.

Armed Police responded and arrested the offender. He has been charged with presenting a firearm and possession of a firearm without lawful purpose and has been bailed to appear in the Tauranga District Court on Friday 01 April 2011.
