Man killed after his car collides with truck

A man is dead after the car he was driving collided head-on with a truck on Highbrook Road, East Tamaki early this morning.

The truck driver and his passenger were not injured in the crash which has resulted in the closure of the road while the scene is examined and cleared. It is anticipated that the road will able to be reopened by 7.00am.

Indications at this stage are that the car crossed the centre line into the path of the truck. Enquiries are being made to establish the identity of the man.
