Pukehina Burglaries
Te Puke Police have charged two local Pukehina young men in relation to the Burglaries of 9 Pukehina properties during March and April.
This stems from a joint operation involving staff from Tauranga, Mount Maunganui and Papamoa who executed search warrants at several Pukehina addresses over the last 7 days.
The local young men aged 17 and 18 have appeared in the Tauranga District Court and have been remanded without plea.
Acting Senior Sergeant Mark Holmes of the Te Puke Police said that the arrest of these two men followed on from the apprehension in early February of another Pukehina male for similar burglaries in Pukehina during January and February. Mr Holmes said that person was recently sentenced to two years imprisonment.
Mr Holmes also said that he would to thank the Pukehina Community who had greatly assisted Police in identifying and apprehending these Burglars. It was a great example of Police working closely with the community, "We both took ownership of the problem said Mr Holmes, The community are our eyes and ears and the information provided was invaluable.
