A Police patrol with two officers attempted to stop the Subaru vehicle as in entered Whangarei.
The Subaru and its sole occupant pulled into the Gull Service Station in Otaika after Police activated their lights and as it slowed it reserved back into the patrol vehicle a number of times.
The Subaru then fled north along state highway one through Whangarei where it has driven on the wrong side of the road in an attempt to avoid the following patrol vehicle.
