Fatal Crash, Rangipo, Taupo District

SH1 is currently closed due to a fatal crash that ocurred at about 1.30pm this afternoon.

The crash scene is south of the SH1 and SH46 intersection at Rangipo.

Two people are confirmed dead. Two others have been transported to hospital.

The road has been closed and diversions are in place. The only diversion available is via National park, Ohakune, Waiouru. The road will be closed for several hours.

Police Serious Crash Unit is investigating.
