GREYTOWN

Police travelling to the Wairarapa have been involved in a crash earlier this afternoon, leaving two officers in hospital with minor injuries.

The crash occurred around 3:30pm, north of Greytown on State Highway Two. It appears the Police vehicle lost control and crashed into a power pole.

The Police Serious Crash Unit were called to the scene and have begun an investigation into the crash.

As a result of the crash, two of the three officers in the vehicle are being treated at Masterton Hospital for minor injuries and are expected to be discharged later this evening.

The officers were travelling in convoy with other Police vehicles, heading to the Wairarapa for an Armed Offenders Squad (AOS) training exercise this week.
