5th arrest for "Machete Robberies"

Police have arrested and charged a 5th person in relation to a series of six aggravated robberies committed around Auckland City during the weekend of 9 -10 April 2011, where it is alleged a machete was used by a group to threaten victims, and steal their property.

Four other people have already been charged in relation to this matter, having initially appeared at Auckland Youth Court on Monday 11 April 2011.

The fifth alleged offender, a 16 year old male from East Auckland, will appear today at Auckland Youth Court, charged with one count of Aggravated Robbery. Further charges are likely.
