Sudden Death - Island Bay Wellington

Yesterday afternoon just after 3pm Police were advised that two recreational divers had located what they believed was a body in the surf just off of the beach at Island Bay on Wellingtons south coast.

The Police Maritime Unit and the National Police Dive Squad were deployed to the scene and the body of a male was recovered.

The death does not look suspicious at this stage however Wellington CIB will continue to investigate until they are certain.
