Bridge closed - Far North - 2km north of Te Kao

A small 2 lane bridge on State Highway 1, 2km north of Te Kao in the Far North, has been damaged by flooding, and is impassable.

The alternate routes of Ninety Mile Beach and the No 2 Arterial Road are also unable to be used at this stage, leaving no other routes to the very top of the North Island.

Work is currently underway to repair the bridge and open State Highway 1.
