NZU21 Netball Team Named
The Emerging Talent Selection panel today named the NZU21 team to play against the Australian 21/U in a three test series, two of which are curtain raisers to the Silver Ferns v Australian Diamonds matches.
The first U21 test will be held in Porirua’s Te Rauparaha Arena 7.00pm (centre pass 7.30pm), the second and third curtain raiser tests will be held at Manawatu Arena in Palmerston North and Vector Arena in Auckland. Both tests will start at 4.15 (centre pass 4.45pm).
The team were selected based on their performances at the NZU21 camp in January, ANZ Championship, Lois Muir Challenge and Regional Events.
NZU21 coach Janine Southby said it was an exciting group both for now and the future, with six of the team being eligible for next World Youth Champs in 2013.
“Gaining international experience is crucial for these young players at this stage of their Netball development.” Southby said. “These tests will also showcase their skills to prospective ANZ Championship teams and National Selectors.”
