AOS deployment

At 0615 hours on Friday 6th May 2011 the Invercargill AOS were deployed to Potted head on Big South Cape Island (Mutton Bird Islands) after a 27 year old male had made threats to harm residents of the island as he had access to firearms. It was also believed he was under the influence of methamphetamine.

He was subsequently arrested and returned to Invercargill for assessment by Mental Health.

At 2 p.m. on Friday 6th May 2011 the Invercargill Armed Offenders Squad were deployed to Green Island (off Ruapuki Island) as a result of a 56 year old male assaulting another male on the island and reportedly having shot a seal.

He was arrested and returned to Invercargill.

He is currently in custody and to appear in the Invercargill District Court tomorrow.
