Police investigating Kilbirnie bank robbery looking for witness
Wellington Police investigating a robbery at the Post Shop/Kiwibank in Bay Road, Kilbirnie late yesterday afternoon want to identify a person who may be able to help Police with their inquiries.
Detective Sergeant Shane Dye of the Wellington CIB says a male Polynesian left the Postshop seconds before the offender entered it and Police want to speak to this witness as soon as possible.
The offender entered the Postshop just before 4:30pm and gave a note to a teller, demanding cash. The teller handed over a sum of money and the offender left, heading south along Bay Road.
"We still want help from the public to identify the offender but would also like to hear from the witness who left the Postshop seconds before the offender entered it."
