"Fast Fund" opens in the region
Sport Manawatu’s KiwiSport Fast Fund opens today (June 1) across the Manawatu, Tararua and Horowhenua regions.
Fast Fund is part of Sport Manawatu’s KiwiSport Regional Partnership Fund, and is available to schools and sporting organisations that have an idea for an initiative that will get more kids into organised sport.
“We see the Fast Fund as a great way to encourage innovative delivery of sport to school-aged children,” says Rachel Cheer, participation manager at Sport Manawatu.
“The Fast Fund has been developed to kick start short term, lower-cost projects and will mean that approved projects receive their funding within a much shorter time frame,” says Miss Cheer.
Fast Fund is available for projects up to a maximum of $2,000 that run for six months or less.
For funding over $2,000, Sport Manawatu’s regular KiwiSport Regional Partnership Fund opens on July 1 2011. To date, this fund has approved $455,893 across 20 projects that encourage kids in the region to play sport.
