Crash victim named

A man killed in a road crash in Palmerston North last night has been named as Jesse Whakarau, aged 22.

Mr Whakarau, from Palmerston North, was the driver of a Honda car that collided with a tree on Kaimanawa Street around 8.15pm.

The only other occupant, a male front seat passenger aged 22 and from Palmerston North, suffered minor injuries.

An investigation into the cause of the crash is underway.
