Lamb Country Festival Tickets On Sale & Website Launched

Lamb Country in Central Hawke’s Bay is excited to announce that tickets for the Lamb Country Festival in September are now on sale through www.lambcountry.co.nz, 0800 LAMB CHB or drop into the Central Hawke’s Bay Information Centre in Waipukurau.

The Lamb Festival in Central Hawke's Bay is part of the REAL New Zealand Festival and will include signature events this September 2011 as part of the Rugby World Cup 2011. It offers locals and visitors entertainment that is pure kiwi and uniquely Central Hawke's Bay. 

Event Manager, Carol Ann Stubbs says, “The Lamb Country Festival of events offers something exciting for everyone in stunning Central Hawke's Bay.” The event details are as follows:

CHB – The Festival, Waipukurau, Saturday 8 – 11 Sept

The annual art & craft celebration at Pukeora Estate, Waipukurau is open from 10-4pm daily. This four day event showcases our quality New Zealand artists. Celebrity chef Hester Guy will create a signature dish and demonstrations with local award winning lamb, while you enjoy art, music, food, wine and a sizzling atmosphere. Class act the Topp Twins will perform on Friday night, CHB - The Festival tickets $59.

Mutton Dressed as Lamb Ball, Waipukurau, Saturday, Sept 10

Central Hawke's Bay Lamb Country is going glam! Dance the night away at the 'Mutton Dressed as Lamb Ball' on Sept 10. Held at the Kiwibackyard the evening is all about glitz, glamour, romance and exquisite local food and wine. Tickets $120 per person and include a bottle of wine at the table, three-course delicious Silver Fern Farms lamb and quality entertainment. Our outrageous Mutton MC will be a class act and have you in stitches!

Running of the Lambs, Saturday, Sept 17, Waipukurau

Experience the 'Running with the Lambs' on Sept 17 with over 1,000 lambs flocking down the street.Waipukurau's main street will be transformed into 'Lamb Central' where you can indulge in gourmet lamb delicacies, The Sheep Shearing Co will hold shearing demonstrations, sheep dog trials, pet lamb competitions and fun family entertainment. We will host a fashion parade complete with the crowning of “Miss Lamb Country & Mr Lamb Chops” Free for the whole family to enjoy!

Paddock to Plate Tours, Central Hawke’s Bay, Sept 17

Take a journey from Paddock to the Plate Tours on Saturday on Sept 17. We will take you on a bus tour to one or each of our homesteads Gwavas, Wallingford, Chapelwick and Oruawharo. Have a go at shearing and wool spinning. Drink quality Central Hawke’s Bay wine, enjoy lamb and high noon teas colonial style. Restaurants will be open in the evening and host you in Lamb Country theme. Tickets $40.
