HUNTLY

Waikato Police are seeking sightings of a gang member with an extensive criminal history who escaped custody from Huntly Police Station last week.

Sergeant Neil Mouncher of the Huntly Police said Mongrel Mob member, Clayton Veitch WILSON, was being walked to an escort van at the back of the station on Wednesday night when he managed to escape about 8pm.

"WILSON has an extensive criminal history and currently has 15 active charges out against him.

"He is known to have access to firearms and a propensity for violence. Police urge anyone who sees WILSON not to approach him but to ring 111 immediately."

Mr Mouncher said those associates of WILSON assisting him as he actively avoids Police need to be aware that they face criminal charges themselves if found to be harbouring or assisting him.

Anyone with any information on WILSON'S whereabouts is asked to contact the Huntly Police on 07 8287560.

Alternatively information can be left anonymously on the Crimestoppers crimeline; 0800 555111.
