Strong Kiwi World Junior Team Named
A strong New Zealand junior women’s squash team for the world championships in Boston next month has been confirmed.
The team will be led by Marlborough player Megan Craig, 18 who has had recent success with two titles in Malaysia. Rebecca Barnett(Wellington) the national junior champion is named along with Manawatu player Danielle Fourie who has also been competing with success in Malaysia. The North Shore’s Abbie Palmer is the fourth player and the youngest at just 13-years-old. She will play for North Shore in the upcoming Mitchell Cup national teams event at the Herne Bay Club June 24-26. Barnett will represent Mitchell Park out of the Hutt Valley.
The coach of the New Zealand team is Joanne Williams(Waikato).
The team leave July 16 for the July 20-30 event in Boston which will be the host for the world junior women’s teams championships and the individual championships.
