Truck crashed over bank

At approximately 6.32 am today, Wednesday 22 June 2011, police received a report of a 'B' Train having gone over a bank on the Otira Highway, Arthurs Pass. Emergency services have rushed to the scene, but due to the terrain are having difficulty reaching the vehicle. The weather has prevented the use of helicopters at this time.

Motorists can expect delays due to the emergency response.
