Plane crashed on take-off

At approximately 3pm today (25/6/2011) a privately owned light plane overturned whilst taking off at the Hokitika Airfield.

Emergency services were alerted and rushed to the scene. On arrival it was established the pilot, the sole occupant, was out of the aircraft and uninjured.
