LOWER HUTT

At about 9.20am this morning a male person rang the Hutt Hospital and advised that he had left a bomb in the car park of the Hospital and in some wards.

As a result Police and Hospital management evacuated a number of non essential people from the Hospital to a nearby building while Police specialist searchers and trained bomb dogs searched the Hospital and environs.

No bomb had been located at the time of this press release (12:07pm) and Police expect to complete the search within the next hour.

Wellington Hospital was used as the alternative during the search.
