Just how well is the Far North District Council doing and is it meeting community expectations?

The question will be tested this month (July) in a representative telephone survey of 400 Far North residents to be carried out by the Hamilton-based research company, Versus Research Ltd.

The primary objective of the survey is to provide a reliable and statistically robust measure of the perceptions that residents have of the council and the services and facilities it provides.

The independent survey will be benchmarked against similar surveys carried out in previous years.
Outcomes will be tested against key performance indicators in the council's forward plans. The survey company will also be carrying out sample testing in three other districts with similar demographics to the Far North, to establish how well the Far North is doing in relation to its peers.

The research company the council has commissioned is expected to complete a report on its findings by mid to late August. The information provided will be used by the council to lift its performance standards in areas where shortcomings have been identified by the community.
