Truck Crash SH1 Paremata

ALTHOUGH THE CRANE HAS STILL NOT ARRIVED ON SCENE, IT IS NOW EXPECTED THAT THE RECOVERY/RIGHTING OF THIS B TRAIN WILL EFFECT ONLY NORTHBOUND TRAFFIC.

IE. BOTH NORTHBOUND LANES OF THE THE CARRIAGEWAY - NORTHBOUND ON SH1 WILL BE CLOSED DURING THE RECOVERY. DIVERSIONS WILL BE IN BE IN PLACE ON SH58 & GRAYS RD.

Police are currently at the scene of a crash on SH1 at the Paremata roundabout.

At this crash, a B-train Truck And Trailer (approx 40 tonnes) has rolled onto its side and is currently blocking the left hand northbound lane of SH1. Motorists are advised to avoid the area if at all possible. If they cannot avoid using SH1 at Paremata, they can expect delays.

A crane has been organised and is expected on site at 09:30am to right the vehicle.

Owing to the location of the crash, the location of the crane recovery operation and the difficulties anticipated in righting the vehicle, SH1 at Paremata will be closed for an estimated 2hrs from 09:30am.
