AUT University's communications school has a new acting curriculum leader for journalism, Greg Treadwell.

The new placement follows the recent departure of associate professor and curriculum leader Dr Martin Hirst, who has returned to Australia to take up a new position at Deakin University in Melbourne.

As a senior lecturer in the communications school at AUT University, Treadwell is an expert in journalism, new media journalism, news reporting, public affairs reporting, editing and newspaper design.
He will remain in the role until a replacement is assigned towards the end of the year or early next year.

Other useful contacts in the AUT University communication school include associate professor Dr Wayne Hope and associate professor Dr David Robie.

Dr Wayne Hope is a researcher, teacher and media commentator with over twenty years experience. His specific areas of research include New Zealand economic, political and media history, public sphere analysis, the political economy of communication, sport – media relationships, globalisation and time.

Dr David Robie is director of the Pacific Media Centre (PMC) and editor of Pacific Journalism Review. He holds wide international media experience with a special interest in the Asia-Pacific region.
