Starship’s Mobile Phone Appeal asks the public to donate their old mobile phones, which are then turned into cash for the national children’s hospital, Starship. With the help of a recycling partner, donated phones are refurbished and sold for export into emerging economies around the world. Those beyond repair are recycled through the correct environmental channels.

The money raised from this appeal goes towards Starship’s Air Ambulance Service, which brings critically ill children to Starship Hospital from all over New Zealand and the Pacific Islands.

Since they launched the Mobile Phone Appeal in February 2009, they have raised $1 million for the national children’s hospital.

We have joined the national phone appeal for Starship Children’s Hospital and we have collection boxes where people can place old, broken, redundant phones, at all our Libraries and Service Centres.
