Casey Williams Unavailable for Upcoming Series

Netball New Zealand has today announced the unavailability of captain Casey Williams for the New World International Netball Series v England and the Holden Netball Series v Australia in 2011 as she will undergo ankle surgery in late August.

Silver Ferns Coach Ruth Aitken will be reassessing her captaincy options during the Silver Ferns camp in early September.

“Casey is an outstanding athlete and her leadership both on and off court will be missed.” Aitken said.

Williams said “I am disappointed to miss the end of the 2011 season but I have to take a longer term view to ensure I have longevity in this sport.”

The full Silver Ferns squad for 2011/2012 will be named on the 1st August 2011.
