Waikato Police make arrest in Tairua assault

Tairua Police investigating the alleged assault of a man attending a public meeting at the town's community centre on Sunday afternoon have made an arrest.

A 57-year-old Thames man was arrested today and appeared in the Thames District Court charged with assault.

Enquiries into the incident are continuing.
