HOKITIKA

Hokitika Police are searching for a 55 year old male cyclist who was last seen near his Hokitika address at 5.15pm on the 2nd October 2007.
He was intending on completing a one hour ride before joining the Hokitika Cycling Club Tuesday night ride, the first of the season.
It is unknown where he intended on riding but would have been remaining within a 15 kilometre radius of Hokitika.
Police, along with over 30 volunteers have been searching the area since 9.00pm without any sign of the man.
He was riding a white Trek road cycle. It is believed he was wearing a blue cycling jacket and black cycle shorts and helmet. He is tall and of slim build.
Police have significant fears for his safety as his disappearance is out of character and the weather at the time was extreme.

Police request information from the public regarding any possible sightings of the cyclist between 5.15pm and 6pm.
Any information can be forwarded to the Hokitika Police on 03 756 8310.
