On Tuesday 19 July the premises of the Arataki Superette was the subject of an Aggravated Robbery.

The heavily disguised, sole offender presented a pistol at the shop owner and left a short time later with a quantity of cash and tobacco products.

As a result of police investigations, and assistance from members of the public a 26 year old unemployed Tauranga man has been arrested and appeared in the Tauranga District Court today.

He currently faces one charge of Aggravated Robbery. Further charges are likely when he next appears in Court on Tuesday 02 August.

Enquiries are continuing and it is possible further arrests may be made as a result of this Aggravated Robbery.
