Dulux opens their new $30m facility in Gracefield opens
Lower Hutt Mayor Ray Wallace, pictured, showed the hand of an artist when he was passed a brush at the official opening of the $30 million upgrade of Dulux’s paint manufacturing and warehouse facility in Gracefield.
A Wellington mural was designed to be “finished” by guests at the opening including Prime Minister John Key who splashed a dash of Waverley red from the Dulux Colours of New Zealand palette to the top of the Beehive drawing.
“The Dulux facility is great asset to our city and we are very pleased that a major international company chose the Lower Hutt,” said Mayor Wallace.
Dulux Group Chairman Peter Kirby said the upgrade is one of the most significant capital projects undertaken by the Dulux Group for some time.
“We are delighted to be investing here and making a long term commitment to New Zealand Manufacturing,” he said.The paint company was first established in Lower Hutt 70 years ago.
