Whitford-Maraetai Rd in Beachlands

Counties Manukau Police Serious Crash Investigation Team is currently at the scene of a serious motor vehicle accident in South Auckland.

A female pedestrian has been killed and another critically injured when they were struck by a motor vehicle.

The incident occurred just after 11pm on Whitford-Maraetai Rd in Beachlands near Te Puru Park.

The second injured female has been transported to Middlemore Hospital and is in a critical condition.

The driver of the vehicle is speaking with police and is fully cooperating with the investigation.

The road is expected to reopen at 5.30am
