Rose pruning season is upon us, and New Plymouth District Council is offering expert advice to home gardeners.

This Saturday (13 August) a pruning demonstration will be held at the Hempton Rose Garden on Hempton Street, next to Marsland Hill, in New Plymouth.

“We’ll be showing basic pruning techniques for roses so that people can apply what they learn back in their own gardens,” says Acting Manager Parks Stuart Robertson.

“We’ll also be happy to answer any questions that people have about their plants and how to get the best out of them.”

The pruning demonstration will take place rain or shine, and will run from 10am to 11am this Saturday.

NPDC has held these popular pruning demonstrations for the last two years.
