Further marine search for missing kayaker underway

A marine search for missing kayaker 19 year old Cameron Millar has resumed a short time ago.

Police Search and Rescue Acting Sergeant Anthony Harmer says the Wellington Police Maritime Unit with Lady Liz IV and the Police National Dive Squad are conducting a further marine search.

"We will then reassess our search later this afternoon, once this marine search has been completed."

Police were notified that Cameron Millar was missing about 6pm on Wednesday evening, after he was last seen by his companion.

Acting Sergeant Harmer says thorough shoreline, aerial and marine searches have been conducted since Police were alerted to Mr Millar's disappearance and today's marine search is focused on an area near Ward Island, where Mr Millar was last seen.
