Detective Sergeant James McKay of Kapiti CIB says the recovered items are believed to have been stolen in recent burglaries throughout the Wellington District, including Kapiti, the Hutt Valley and Palmerston North.

"We have managed to find the rightful owners of some of the items, but are really keen to reunite other owners with their sentimental belongings."

Items recovered include:
- Antique watches
- A silver sugar bowl
- A collection of antique teaspoons
- Miscellaneous cutlery
- A collection of unique shells.

Detective Sergeant McKay says, "We urge anyone who recognises any of their property in the attached photos or has any information as to who they belong to, to contact Kapiti Police as soon as possible on (04) 296 6800.
