Lion Foundation Netball Champs underway this weekend

The Lion Foundation Netball Champs get underway this weekend with games being played in Tauranga, Dunedin, Auckland, North Habour, Counties Manukau and Hamilton.

Over the next four weekends games will be played all around the country building toward the Finals Week at Te Rauparaha Arena in Porirua from the 28th-30th September. Teams will play their final round robin games on Wednesday 28th of September before going in to final play offs on the Thursday and Friday.

The Lion Foundation Netball Champs has two split divisions with the six top ranked teams in Division One and the six lower ranked teams in Division Two. The teams’ ranking is based on their 2010 Lion Foundation Netball Champs results.

The Divisions are:

Division One:

Auckland Waitakere (2010 Runners-Up 1st Division)
Bay of Plenty*
Canterbury (2010 Winners 1st Division)
Otago
Southland
Wellington

Division Two:

Counties Manukau
Eastern
North
Tasman
Waikato
Western*


* Bay of Plenty moved into Division One after defeating Western in the 2010 Promotion/Relegation game
