Man killed in crash is named

A man who died in a crash in Woodville yesterday (Sunday, 4 September) can now be named as Patrick Joseph Mooney, aged 85, from Waipukurau.

The crash happened approximately 10.15am when the Nissan sedan car driven by Mr Mooney was in collision with a Nissan 4WD at the corner of State Highway Two and Priest Road.

Mr Mooney was the sole occupant of the Nissan. The Nissan 4WD had two occupants, a man and a woman, and neither was injured.

An investigation into the cause of the crash is ongoing.
