Fatal Crash SH2 Te Puke Update

An 18 year old Pukehina man died today in a crash between a light truck and a utility vehicle towing a trailer on State Highway 2 east of Te Puke.

The deceased was a passenger in the light truck. Three other occupants of the light truck were transported to Tauranga Hospital.

State Highway 2 was closed for three hours and diversions put in place while emergency services and Police serious crash attended the scene. The road is now open.

Police enquiries are continuing into the cause of the crash and police ask any witnesses to the crash to contact the Tauranga South Police Station on 07 5783460.

Police are unable to provide any further details today.
