Enquiries continue into fire at Allenby Terrace property in Wellington

Police and Fire Service personnel have returned to the scene of Wednesday's fire at an Allenby Terrace property in Wellington.

Detective Senior Sergeant Donna Howard of the Wellington CIB says all rooms of the property have now been cleared and all known occupants of the address have been accounted for.

"We can confirm that no persons have been found inside the property."

The cause of the blaze on Wednesday afternoon is still unknown but Police are treating it as suspicious.

Further enquiries will be made at the scene once demolition contractors, acting on behalf of the Wellington City Council, have made the property safe.
