Western Bay Police are asking for anyone who witnessed a crash between a dark coloured station wagon and a moped on Truman Lane near the entrance to Bay park Stadium at approximately 10.40pm on Saturday evening 17th September to contact the Strategic Traffic Unit at Tauranga South Police Station, ph 5783460

The 16 year old male rider of the moped suffered a broken leg in the crash and has been admitted to Tauranga Hospital. The other vehicle involved, believed to be a Ford Falcon or similar backed up and sped off after crashing into the moped.
