WELLINGTON CITY

It's going to be a big weekend in Wellington as the city gets set to play host to the first of three rugby double-headers.

The first match is the Australia v USA game on Friday 23 September, then Argentina play Scotland on Sunday

25 September. Both games start at 8.30pm at Wellington Regional Stadium.

So you'll need to plan ahead if you're driving around town this weekend as we will be closing some roads around the stadium before, during and after the two matches.

As the Tournament revs up, so too does the enthusiasm! The Rugby Village FANZONE on the waterfront is proving popular so make sure you get there in plenty of time to enjoy the live games on the big screen and pre-match entertainment as capacity is limited.

Remember you can also head along to the warmth and comfort of the family-friendly Town Hall. This is an alcohol-free venue where you can also see live screenings of weekend matches with plenty of free community and multicultural performances on stage in the lead-up.

We have over 150 events taking place in and around Wellington during the Festival of Carnivale. For more detailed information, visit:

Finally, with rugby fans from all over the world descending on the Capital we want to give a big thank-you to Wellingtonians who are going the extra mile to welcome or help visitors - keep up the good work!
