The Scottish Rugby team will hold its remaining closed training sessions in Lower Hutt at the Hutt Recreation Ground.

The team has been training at the Basin Reserve cricket ground, but after their Sunday experience at the Hutt Rec, wishes to return there.

Mayor of Lower Hutt Ray Wallace has welcomed the decision by the Scottish players to hold their Wednesday and Thursday closed training sessions at the ground.

“The players were very pleased with the playing surface which is one of the best in the Wellington region, so we are happy to have them back here,” he says.

Scottish-born Mayor Ray Wallace, who greeted the team to Lower Hutt on Sunday wearing his Wallace tartan kilt, will be attending the game against Argentina on Sunday.

“I am proud of my Scottish heritage and I will be looking for a great game but I’ll be backing the Scots,” he says.
