Woman in Wellington Hospital with stab wounds following Naenae incident

WELLINGTON CITY

A 35 year old woman is in Wellington Hospital’s Intensive Care Unit with stab wounds following an incident in Naenae this afternoon.

Detective Senior Sergeant Scott Cooper of the Lower Hutt CIB says emergency services were called to a Cambridge Terrace address in Naenae around 2:10pm, where a woman had been stabbed.

“The victim is in a serious condition in ICU. A scene examination will be carried out at the address tomorrow and further enquiries are underway this evening.”

Detective Senior Sergeant Cooper is urging anyone who was in the vicinity of Cambridge Terrace this afternoon between 1pm and 2:10pm, between Kowhai Street and Wingate Bridge, to contact Lower Hutt Police as soon as possible on (04) 560 2600 or phone Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
