19 year old female arrested in connection with Naenae stabbing incident

A 19 year old woman has been arrested in connection to a stabbing incident in Naenae this afternoon.

A 35 year old woman is in Wellington Hospital’s Intensive Care Unit in a serious condition with stab wounds following an incident at a Cambridge Terrace address in Naenae this afternoon.

Detective Senior Sergeant Scott Cooper of the Lower Hutt CIB says the 19 year old female has been charged with assault a short time ago and will appear in the Lower Hutt District Court tomorrow. Further charges are likely.

“A scene examination will be carried out at the address tomorrow and further enquiries are continuing. We urge anyone who was in the vicinity of Cambridge Terrace this afternoon between 1pm and 2:10pm, between Kowhai Street and Wingate Bridge, to contact Lower Hutt Police as soon as possible on (04) 560 2600 or phone Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
