Body located in Tauranga Harbour

At 7.06 am this morning a male body was located in the Tauranga Harbour near the Matapihi Rail Bridge. At this stage Police are unable to confirm the cause of death or the identity of this male.

The Search and Rescue operation that was launched last night after male went missing in the Tauranga Harbour has been suspended while further enquiries are completed.

Police are unable to make any further comment at this time.
